HMHA Ethnic Night Out
Ethnic Food...Some of Us Love It
Ethnic Night Out is a very informal activity...just contact the organizers for Ethnic Night Out to let them know you're interested and you'll be invited the next time an event is planned.  And, if you have ideas, pass them along.  We will try to make it as simple and painless as possible...separate checks if we can get them and, if not, we'll agree on a basic price range and split the bill evenly.  It's that simple.  Our first Ethnic Night Out was held Friday, July 13, 2007 at Fadi's (Lebanese) on Preston, north of 121. Our second Ethnic Night Out was held at Queen of Sheba (Ethiopian) on Inwood, just south of Beltline in Addison.  The next event was at Jorgi's (German/Austrian) in old Downtown Plano.  Our most recent Ethnic Night Out, February 8, was at Italian Villa, a relatively new old-style Italian restaurant at 17180 Preston Road, just north of Campbell on the east side...nice, inexpensive food, and you can bring your own wine!   Join us as we try other exciting places...we'll be going for Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, and Ethiopian in the coming months!  For a list of just a few restaurants we might consider as possibilities, click here.

Current Organizers:
John Swinburn and Sandi Knight

Geezer Weekend Coffee Treks aren't just for old folks...they're are for our neighbors and friends who have 'adequate age & eccentricy,' and that means anyone who wants to join us! Early on Saturday or Sunday mornings, we'll take a brisk walk to a nearby coffee shop for a bit of exercize and conversation. Want to join us? Volunteer to be an organizer of a Coffee Trek and you're in!

EatAbout: We've yet to organize one, but we're ready for volunteers to take on the task!  What's an EatAbout? It's a neighborhood event in which interested and willing households make a favorite dish that can be easily set up outdoors on the front lawn or sidewalk to be tasted by passers-by.  Tasting stations would be visited by neighbors from throughout our community, encouraging conversation and recipe-sharing.  If you have the energy to get one organized, we're ready to take advantage of your generous donation of your time!
